Korea's most convenient way to travel from city to city is with Korail! Nice play on words. Korail provides 5 classes of railway and metro services; KTX, ITX, Mugunghwa-ho and Nuriro, Commuter Services, and Metro Services! The KTX is one of the best ways to travel long distances in Korea. This train goes approximately 305 km/h (190 mph) and of course can go faster. The goal of these bullet trains was the cut the length of travel in half from Seoul to Busan. Sound familiar? Train To Busan used the same train. But no worries, hopefully, there are no zombies. These trains have the option of taking you almost anywhere. They are very convenient, clean, and overall a smooth ride with a good view. When purchasing a ticket for the train, you can either purchase it through the KorailTalk app or at the station in your city. At the KTX Station in your city, there will be ticket machines for Domestic Credit Cards only. For foreign cards, proceed to the ticket line up to see a representative. If you do not speak Korean, you can just say the name of the city you would like to go to. You will receive a ticket with the train number, platform number, train car number, and seat number all on it. There will always be announcements about when you train is approaching both in Korean and English. If you are unsure if you are boarding the correct train, show any of the conductors your ticket and they will make sure you get on the correct train.  Some extra information about taking the KTX: When buying the ticket, you may have three options. You can purchase a regular ticket which arrives the fastest. If you are looking for a cheaper option, you can buy a ticket which takes a slight detour and takes a little longer to reach your destination. There is also another option, usually used for when the train is full; Standing Ticket. When getting this ticket, you do not have a seat on the train, you can either stand or sit on the floor. All of these options may come your way when traveling around Korea, but they may differ depending on your destination. **IMPORTANT NOTE** If you are departing or your arrival destination is Seoul, I HIGHLY recommend booking your ticket on the Korail app one day before. Especially on the weekends and Fridays, all the trains become booked very quickly. Standing on a train for 1-5 hours (depending on destination and train) is NOT fun!!
