So the first thing you need to know about Korean public transportation is that it is very convenient. Buses come very often, they usually begin at 5:00 am and run until 11:00 pm, same goes for the Subways. Most bus stops have screens indicating when the bus will arrive and they are often very accurate. You can board the bus with your T-Money card or with cash. The prices of bus fare may slightly differ depending on the city you are in. Scanning your card as you enter the bus with charge you if you are transferring to another bus or subway, remember to scan your card again as you exit the bus. Scanning the card again will let your transfer be free from 30 minutes from when the scan was done. In Seoul, be sure to scan your card no matter what or your card will continue to be charged. If you are coming from a Western country, I suggest grabbing a seat on the bus as fast as possible, it will be a bumpy ride unlike the stabilized buses from other countries. Korean buses always have announcements before approaching the next stop in Korean and sometimes English. The Korean Subways are pretty awesome especially if you live in Seoul. There are 11 subway lines in Seoul, 6 in Busan, 3 in Daegu, and 1 in Daejeon. The Subways come quite often and they are fast. The subways have arrival anouncments in Korean, English, Japanese and sometimes in Chinese. Be sure to be alert in the subway station making sure you board the train headed in the correct direction. Taxis in Korea a quite inexpensive and there are many on the road. Want a taxi? Stand on the side of the road and one will pass you in less than 2 minutes. Flag down a taxi with "빈차" displayed with LED lights on the taxi, this means vacancy. Having fun on a Friday night? Taking a taxi home might be a slight struggle. Some taxi drivers may drive recklessly to purposely induce motion sickness. Alcohol + crazy driving = Vomit and more money to the Taxi company.

**Important Notice About Taxis!! ** 1: Some taxis may accept your credit card, I have experienced some taxis that can and some that can't!! 2: If your destination is considered "too close" you may be denied service and they will ask you to get out of the taxi!
